OUR PRINCIPAL

Kia ora Koutou and a big welcome to Mamaku School

I believe a Principal needs to have in place strategies, systems and structures to enable the children and staff to develop to their full potential, academically, socially, physically and culturally in a challenging and stimulating environment, I call this doing your P.B – “Personal Best with Positive Behaviour”.

A rich, uncluttered education that inspires and stretches the minds of all children must be a shared goal as we prepare to embrace the 21st century with appropriate life skills.

Every child has a key to their learning and development. I believe my role as Principal is to help every child to find that key, adapting to the individual needs and motivating each student to be accountable for their learning.

I believe that everyone should work together while encouraging individual flare, towards shared goals with co-operation among my colleagues. A happy staff works happily with students, which in turn is reflected by cheerful positive students who want to learn.

We must always welcome and promote community involvement and clearly communicate what we are doing, why we are doing it, how we are doing it, and whether or not it is proving successful against the goals we set together.

I believe that community support for Mamaku school is vital as we are all working together for the common good of the children to make sure that they fulfil their potential. Effective, constructive and open communication with the community is essential to build positive relationships.
